About Us

Our process.

Here are the 6 steps we follow to ensure a streamlined and professional process

1. Initial Consultation and Assessment

We begin by understanding your specific requirements and gathering all relevant information about your property or project. Whether you need a survey, sampling, or asbestos removal, our team will guide you through the options and recommend the best course of action.

2. Comprehensive Site Survey

Our qualified surveyors conduct a thorough inspection of your property to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). Depending on your needs, this may include:

  • Management Surveys for occupied spaces.
  • Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys for planned projects.
  • Bulk Sampling for targeted testing of specific materials.

All surveys are conducted in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012 to ensure compliance and safety.

3. Sampling and Laboratory Analysis

If suspected ACMs are identified, our team collects samples and sends them to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for detailed analysis. This step ensures accurate identification of asbestos types and provides essential data for risk assessment and management planning.

4. Detailed Reporting and Recommendations

Once the survey and analysis are complete, we provide you with a comprehensive report. This includes:

  • An asbestos register.
  • Risk assessments.
  • Clear recommendations for managing or removing asbestos.

Our reports are designed to be easy to understand, giving you the information you need to make informed decisions.

5. Safe Asbestos Management or Removal

Based on the findings, we work with you to implement the recommended actions. Whether it’s ongoing management of ACMs or safe removal, our team ensures all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

6. Ongoing Support and Compliance

At CDC Environmental, our commitment doesn’t end with project completion. We offer ongoing support, including re-inspection surveys and updates to your asbestos register, to help you maintain compliance and ensure a safe environment for years to come.

FAQS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions about asbestos surveys or compliance? Check out some of our FAQs below for clear, concise answers to the most common queries—helping you stay informed and confident in managing asbestos risks effectively.

ALL FAQS

What is Asbestos?

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibre that was widely used in construction and other industries until the late 1990s. The three types of asbestos fibres most used in the UK are: blue (crocidolite), brown (amosite) and white (chrysotile).

Where is asbestos found?

Before its dangers were known, asbestos was often used in buildings for insulation, flooring, roofing, and was sprayed on ceilings and walls. Its use is now banned in the UK, but buildings constructed before the year 2000 may still have asbestos in them. Materials containing asbestos are referred to ‘ACMs’ (asbestos containing materials). Asbestos can also be found in soils, where ACM waste has been disposed.

What does UK law say about managing asbestos?

UK law is very strict about managing ACMs (asbestos containing materials). It is heavily regulated to ensure best practice and safety of anyone who may come into contact with it. The Duty to Manage Asbestos is the responsibility of the Duty Holder and the guidelines are included in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012). The Regulations set out your legal duties and the ACOP and guidance give practical advice on how to comply with those requirements.
